Free AI footprint check
AI footprint check: which AI vendors has this domain verified with?
See which AI vendors a domain has published a public DNS verification record for, such as OpenAI or Anthropic. One passive DNS lookup. It shows records, not usage, and many AI tools leave no record at all.
How to read this
Some AI vendors ask a company to publish a TXT record in DNS to prove it owns its domain, usually before turning on a business plan, company sign-in, or admin controls. Those records are public. This check reads the domain's apex TXT records once and matches only the exact record formats those vendors document.
A match means a verification record is published. It does not tell you who uses the tool, how many people, what data goes into it, or whether the account is still active. Records are often left in DNS after a trial ends.
No match does not mean no AI. Free accounts, personal accounts, browser extensions, and AI features inside tools the company already uses leave nothing in DNS. Treat an empty result as "nothing published," not "nothing in use."
We never show the token value. We show the record name only, so the page cannot be used to copy someone's verification string.
If you are an MSP, the useful question is not "are you using AI?" It is "who owns these accounts, and is there a written rule for what staff put into them?" That is the conversation a policy, an approved-tools list, and a short staff session answer.
FAQ
- Does this show whether staff use ChatGPT?
- No. It shows whether the company published a verification record for a vendor. Most AI use leaves no DNS record.
- Why is my domain listed when we stopped using the tool?
- Verification records stay until someone removes them. Ask your DNS admin to delete records for vendors you no longer use.
- Is this a scan of our network?
- No. It is one public DNS lookup, the same data anyone can query. Point-in-time, not a guarantee.
- Which vendors do you check?
- OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Perplexity, and Cursor. We add a vendor only after confirming its exact record format, so a match is never a guess.
